What is KiddieKit?
KiddieKit is a gardening kit for children ages 5-10 years old. The purpose of the kit is to get kids connected with nature, learn about plant growth, and reduce screen time.

KiddieKit Research
Kids spend about 6-8 hours online a day, with a huge increase between ages 5-10 years old. This is because there are electronics everywhere we look and kids are more busy with school and extracurriculars.

Spending time in nature reduces stress and anxiety, increases curiosity, develops the senses, increases physical and mental health, and develops a strong connection with nature.
​
Gardening creates a sense of responsibility, develops patience, gives a sense of accomplishment, increases plant appreciation, develops new skills and offers a new hobby, and this kit is accessible both indoors and outdoors.

What's the impact?
KiddieKit will reduce daily screen time, help kids learn about plants, practice reading skills through the app and planting instructions, and will help children for a connection with nature and the community.
What's the KiddieKit App?
The KiddieKit app is a simple app for children to document their plant and gardening progress, learn more about their plants, and share their plants with the KiddieKit Community.

Since the app is so simple, children won't be increasing their daily screen time. The app will encourage children to care for their plants on a daily basis, which then reduces their daily screen time.
